The Nervous System Reset

Phase 1 of The Ridgeline Reset

Everything about Phase 1, in one place — what the program is, how it works, what a visit actually feels like, and what it costs. Whether we just walked you through it or you're reading about it for the first time, take this at your own pace and bring your questions to the consult.

Settle the system first. Everything you build on top of it works better.

Phase 1 is where we start.

Christina and Kim walked through all of this in detail — the reasoning, the science, what a visit is actually like, and who it's for. If you'd rather hear it than read it, start here.

The problem

Feeling stuck?

Fatigue that sleep doesn't fix. Tension you can't put down. Weight that won't move no matter what you change. Digestion that's become unpredictable.

These are common, and they're easy to file under "just stress" or "just getting older."

Your body has two modes. In sympathetic — fight or flight — the heart races, muscles tighten, digestion slows, alertness climbs. In parasympathetic — rest and digest — breathing deepens, muscles let go, digestion works, and the body gets on with repair.

A healthy nervous system moves between the two as the day demands. The problem isn't having a stress response. The problem is getting stuck in one.

When the autonomic nervous system can't settle back down, the systems downstream of it have a harder time doing their job. Standard tests often look normal, because nothing is broken — the signaling is stuck.

Phase 1 works on that pattern directly, before we ask your body to do anything harder. It's the groundwork the rest of your whole-body wellness plan sits on.

The background

What is procaine?

Most people have met it already, at the dentist, under the name Novocaine.

Procaine is a local anesthetic first synthesized in 1905 by Alfred Einhorn. It has been in continuous clinical use for more than a century, which is a longer safety record than almost anything else in a modern clinic.

The numbing is the least interesting thing about it.

Your body breaks procaine down quickly into two simple compounds. PABA, part of the vitamin B complex, acts as an antioxidant. DEAE has a gentle calming effect on brain chemistry. Both are metabolized by enzymes your body already makes, which is why procaine clears so cleanly.

Used deliberately and at low concentration, procaine helps stabilize the electrical charge across cell membranes and quiet overactive nerve signaling. That's the whole idea behind what we do in Phase 1 — not numbing anything, but giving an over-firing system a chance to settle.

A short history

  1. 1905 — Alfred Einhorn synthesizes procaine
  2. 1926 — Ferdinand Huneke uses it to resolve an intractable migraine, and neural therapy begins
  3. 1950s — Dr. Ana Aslan's work in Romania brings procaine into longevity medicine
  4. Today — used widely across Europe for decades, and now gaining recognition in the US
Interference fields

Why a scar in one place can matter somewhere else

This is the part most people haven't heard before, and it's worth two minutes.

An interference field is a scar, an old injury, or a nerve cluster that has started sending abnormal signals. The signal doesn't stay local. It can pull the whole system off balance, and the effect often shows up somewhere that seems completely unrelated.

Two examples Christina uses:

  • An old appendix scar contributing to chronic low back pain
  • A dental extraction site contributing to ongoing headaches

Scar tissue is the common one. It can trap abnormal electrical activity and hold the area in a low-grade state of stress. C-sections, appendix scars, knee surgery, dental work — all common. Procaine placed along a scar line helps normalize the signaling there, improves local circulation, and softens the tension in the tissue.

Clearing that noise is the point. It's why Phase 1 comes first.

The program

What Phase 1 includes

A four-part program, delivered over a series of visits and supervised by our medical team.

A man lying back on a daybed with his eyes closed, breathing slowly in quiet daylight

Four procaine neural therapy sessions

Small, targeted injections of procaine placed at specific points — scars, nerve points, trigger points, and autonomic nerve clusters — to settle interference fields and support healthy nerve signaling. More on neural therapy

Four procaine IV therapy sessions

The systemic version of the same idea. Delivered into the bloodstream, it reaches the whole network at once rather than one location at a time. Kim runs these. More on procaine IV

One Pulsetto device — yours to keep

A small, non-invasive device you use at home to stimulate the vagus nerve — the main nerve of the rest-and-digest system. It's how the work continues between visits, which matters, because this is a cumulative process. The manufacturer's research summary: https://pulsetto.tech/pages/science

Four supplements

D-Evail, L-Theanine, Magnesium Glycinate, and Omegavail — chosen to support the same systems the in-clinic work is addressing.

What each piece is worth on its own

  • Four procaine neural therapy sessions, $199 each$796
  • Four procaine IV therapy sessions, $199 each$796
  • One Pulsetto device, yours to keep$569
  • Four supplements, a full course$172.74
  • Two visits with Karla Meyers, PA, before and after$99
  • Bought separately$2,432.74

As one program, under our care, it is a good deal less than that. Your health is an investment, and it all begins with the nervous system. We go over the number together at your $99 consult.

The visit

What actually happens at a visit

A woman settled into a wide recliner under a soft knit blanket, looking toward a bright window

Your procaine IV

A small IV is placed, the same as any IV therapy session. The procaine is mixed with sodium bicarbonate in a saline bag to get the pH right, then infused slowly over 30 to 60 minutes while you rest. Kim monitors you the whole time.

Most people feel mild warmth, a spreading sense of calm, sometimes slight dizziness. Pupils may dilate a little, which is normal and passes. The most common description is feeling deeply relaxed and pleasantly heavy — a warm, weighted calm spreading through the whole body.

Your neural therapy session

Done in a private treatment room. We use very small gauge needles, and most people are surprised by how comfortable it is. You may notice warmth, a light tingling, or a sense of calm settling in. Some people feel a distinct response at the moment the injection reaches its target.

Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes, depending on how many areas we're working on.

Christina and Kim walk you through each step. Nothing happens that you haven't been told about first.

The schedule

How the sessions are spaced

Nervous system work is cumulative — that's the single most important thing to understand about Phase 1.

One session can bring real relief. Lasting change comes from the series, because each session builds on the one before it. You are, in effect, retraining the system to hold a calmer baseline.

Most people notice a meaningful shift somewhere around the second to fourth session.

Sessions are typically scheduled one to two per week. We'll map the actual calendar with you at the consult, around your schedule.

Change often shows up as a shift in pattern before it shows up as a resolution. That shift is what we watch for, and it's a good sign.

What to expect

What patients tell us they notice

Most people don't describe one dramatic moment. They describe a series of small returns.

  • Deeper rest, and sleep that holds
  • More room before stress lands
  • Steadier energy through the day, and digestion that settles
  • Renewed momentum on the goals that had stalled

Individual results may vary. The treatments at Ridgeline Longevity & Aesthetics are intended to support overall wellness and aesthetic goals and are not a substitute for professional medical care.

Safety

Is it safe?

A fair question, and one we'd rather answer plainly than have you wonder about.

Procaine has been in clinical use for over a hundred years. Your body metabolizes it with its own enzymes, quickly and cleanly. Side effects during an infusion are usually limited to mild dizziness, warmth, or slight sweating, and they pass.

What procaine is not. It is not habit-forming or addictive. It is not a steroid. It is not an opioid.

When it isn't the right fit. Phase 1 is not appropriate if you have a known allergy to ester anesthetics, significant cardiovascular instability, or an uncontrolled seizure disorder. There are other situations where we'd want to look more closely first — that's exactly what the consult is for, and part of our job is to tell you honestly if this isn't your starting point.

Every session is supervised by Christina Finnerty, NP, and Kim Look.

This therapy is provided under the supervision of a licensed medical provider. Discuss your individual health situation with our team before beginning any new protocol.
